Subdivisions
Bolivia is divided into nine departments, or departamentos:
- B Beni
- H Chuquisaca
- C Cochabamba
- L La Paz
- O Oruro
- N Pando
- P Potosí
- S Santa Cruz
- T Tarija
License Plates
License plates in Bolivia are white with blue text and borders: ABC-123. BOLIVIA is printed on top, alongside a box bearing a letter code for the issuing department that can be found using the subdivisions list above.

Phone codes in Bolivia are organized by department, and follow department borders:
- West

Language
Spanish is the official language of Bolivia, although 36 other indigenous languages share co-official status. It is characterized by its use of the tilde on top of an N, and the use of inverted punctuation at the beginning of phrases.
Script
Spanish uses the 26 standard letters of the Latin alphabet, plus one extra character (Ññ):

In addition, Spanish employs the acute accent over vowels:
